“Building Health Equity in Our Communities by Bridging Health Disparities”

Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 27th, from 9:00 am — 1:00 pm, when the African Society Foundation will host its 1st Annual Community Virtual Health Fair. The health fair event is free and open to the public.

The health fair will include offerings for physical health, Emotional/spiritual wellness, Advocacy, and Financial well-being. We will have an interprofessional team of participants including; Dentists, Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nutrition and Fitness Experts, Lawyers, Religious Leaders, among others. The event will also feature; Happy Smiles are Healthy Smiles program, yoga for kids and adults, pastoral counseling, kids cooking activities, goody bags, and more.

Chef Carol Waithira Mühlenbrock

Chef Carol W. Muehlenbrock works at the Haus Muehlenbrock Restaurant and Hotel in Germany. She is also the CEO and founder of Karibuni Jikoni, an online platform she created cook, coach, and inspire her audience. Her unique high-energy dance and cooking shows have attracted a huge social media following. Carols engaging interviews from her “Let me cook your dish” explores different cultures through a common human need for food. As the Coronavirus pandemic lingers on, more children are at risk of becoming obese due to poor eating habits and reduced physical activity. Chef Carol will take us through a live session of her special brunch menu to help families learn some fun and easy menus they can try cooking together during summer break.
